When you are looking at add dimension and light, add a reflective quality a mirror.  Perhaps you just painting a room a deep peacock teal, what better way to add  light the a grouping of baroque gold guilded mirrors.

Mirrors can also be used to create the illusion of more space.  If you have a small long narrow hallway, why not place long mirror at the end (this makes the wall looks like it continues, it buffers an abrupt end.  I also love grouping of mirrors when  you have a wall you don't know what to do with.  Why not take all different mirrors of all shapes and frames and create a focal point.  This will look great over a plain sofa, or up a stairwell.  Have you ever been in a room and it starts looking like a furniture showroom, its nice an everything is well-appointed, but it lacks something......PERSONALITY.  Great design is more than matching colors, branch out and be bold add texture, whimsy, and an awesome mirror arrangement.

In the picture below I love the feel of this room, its breezy.  This mirror grouping adds a touch of whimsy to a very formal room.  The oil bronzed frame unifies the mirrors *Note:  when choosing a grouping of different mirrors if you want uniformity try to find the same frame finish, but combine with different sizes, so its not boring.
